PPR-PS for New Managers
Performance Management is critical to your success as a manager of people. How you give feedback to your staff can make all the difference in their development and ultimately in your success.
Target Group
If you're a new supervisor (either to the role or QUT), and required to facilitate PPR discussions with professional staff HEW 3-10, this session is a must.
Session Details
The session runs for approximately four hours. On completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:
- Outline the context, objectives, benefits and key components of the PPR-PS process;
- Write their own development and performance plan and assist staff they supervise to develop their individual plans;
- Ensure the PPR process is meaningful and flexible to suit the work environment;
- Initiate the PPR-PS Supervisor Feedback Survey and interpret results;
- Engage more confidently in the exchange of feedback at the various stages of the performance management cycle; and
- Apply principles for giving and receiving constructive feedback.

Information Sessions for Teams
Organisational Development consultants are available to conduct informal PPR-PS information sessions for managers and their work teams.
Session Details
These sessions, held in the workplace, would normally be of 1-2 hours in duration and are tailored to the needs of the work group. Suggested content would include:
- The PPR-PS process
- Rights and responsibilities
- Developing a performance plan
- Completing the PPR-PS form
- Reviewing the plan
- Guidelines for receiving feedback
- Professional development
- Resolving disagreements
