If you have accessed this site, you are probably one of the 3000 sessional or fractional academics who work at QUT. Our site is specially designed to give important information & support to sessional and fractional academics working at QUT.
Our monthly meetings are for all sessional and fractional academics to attend. So, we look forward to meeting you there or at one of our functions.
What Does PAPTA Do?
- Do you know your current rate of PAY?
- How much you should get for marking over recommended amounts?
- For answering student emails?
- PARKING - How do you get a permit? Is it a tax deduction?
- Do you have access to EMAIL, the LIBRARY, PERSONNEL, an Office area to consult with students and prepare teaching work?
PAPTA provides support for sessional/casual academic staff by:
- representing the professional interests of sessional academic staff to QUT management
- improving communication between QUT administration and sessional academic staff
- providing information to sessional academic staff re QUT services and processes
- working for more formal processes to support sessional academics e.g., induction, handbooks, professional development opportunities
- facilitating networking amongst sessional academic staff
- sponsoring sessional Academic Development Programs
