Program Overview
Guided by the imperatives for strategic renewal at QUT, the Mid-Career Academic Development (MCAD) program provides participants with opportunities to enhance their individual performance in current and future changing environments.
Sponsored by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Coaldrake; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Ken Bowman; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Commercialisation), Professor Arun Sharma; and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Teaching Quality). This invitational program is designed to provide opportunities for mid-career academics (Level B and C) to:
- Build leadership capability
- Enhance engaged research and teaching and learning
- Reflect on career development and progression
- Explore academic culture and practice; and
- Develop reflective practice
Over a nine month period the program provides an opportunity for participants to reflect on their current academic focus and to re-energise their career journey through a greater understanding of themselves, their academic contribution and their current or future academic leadership role.
The program is designed to provide a catalyst for building their career momentum through a combination of presentations, workshops and activities that are underpinned by engagement with others and reflective practice.
