Salary and Conditions of Employment
What happens to my salary and conditions of employment while on leave?
- Your normal salary accrues during any period of paid professional development leave.
- Recreation leave accrued prior to the PDP leave period cannot be used for undertaking the project.
- You can attach recreation leave to PDP leave. If you want to do this, you must apply for leave through StaffConnect.
- For absences of three months or more, you should take normal recreation leave credit accruals during your leave. If this is not possible, you should gain approval for deferment of leave before departure. If approved, the leave is added to normal accruals.
- Superannuation arrangements remain the same during periods of paid leave.
- If you apply for and are granted participation in a professional development program without pay, you will continue to accrue normal leave credits during the period of leave, including:
- long service leave
- recreation leave
- sick leave credits, and
- service credits for salary progression purposes.
- QUT will not continue to make superannuation payments during periods of leave without pay.
