The University's grievance resolution policy can be found in the MOPP A/6.1 . Three sets of procedures arise from this policy dealing specifically with the resolution of grievances related to the workplace, discrimination related grievances and student matters. All have a common three-step framework and are informed by the same principles outlined in the policy. Between them they apply to all staff and students and cover disputes, grievances, and problems affecting the working and learning environment.

Procedures

The following procedures arise from the Grievance Resolution policy:

The Human Resources Department assists in the resolution of grievances with the Grievance resolution procedures for workplace related grievances and bullying .

The diagram "Grievance resolution procedures for workplace related grievances and bullying" illustrates the three level process for resolving workplace related grievances. The procedures provide details on each of the steps and the timeframes identified for each level.

Before initiating these grievance resolution procedures a complainant may wish to seek further information and advice from relevant officers in the Human Resources Department about whether these procedures are appropriate to their grievance situation and what assistance the Human Resources Department may provide.
