Fire & Emergency and Security
What number would I dial for an emergency?If you are using an internal QUT phone dial 85555. If you are using an external phone dial 3138 5555. This is a 24 hour service. Online details available at: Security
I feel unsafe working at night, who do I call?
Dial 85585 for a security escort. This is a 24 hour number. Online details available at: Security Escort
Who is responsible for a fire or emergency evacuation?
The staff member who is charge of a room is responsible for the safe evacuation in an emergency. Trained Building and Floor Wardens assist the safe evacuation: Fire Safety on Campus
What should I complete after an accident or an emergency?
All accidents and injuries (including those to students) must be reported on an accident and injury report form available from your workplace area. Make sure to advise your supervisor of the incident. Accidents and injuries are recorded in the Safety Problem Report & Investigation form (SPRI).
What are the help numbers to call 24 hours/day?
Emergency: 85555 (internal), 3138 5555 (external)
Non-Urgent (routine security matters): 85585 or 3138 5585 (external)
Maintenance (urgent, dangerous or routine maintenance problems): 83000 or 3138 3000 (external)
