Are you a student?
If you are a student at QUT, you do not qualify under the state legislated workers' compensation policy for employees. If you sustain an injury related to and directly caused by your studies, you should contact the QUT Student Guild as they currently have some limited insurance cover. Contact www.guildonline.net
Are you a visitor to campus?
The legislated insurance scheme for staff does not include visitors. If you consider that QUT contributed to an injury while on campus, you can lodge a general insurance claim. Please contact Mr Darryl Crawford in the Division of Finance and Resource Planning on 3138 2431 for further information.
Are you a QUT employee?
If you are a QUT employee and sustain a work-caused injury or illness, or, in some cases, on the journey to or from work, you may be eligible to lodge a workers' compensation claim. There are some exceptions to this, and each case is assessed by WorkCover Queensland according to the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003. Please contact the Senior Rehabilitation Advisor on 3138 9273 for further details.
Are you employed by an agency or hire company to work for QUT?
If you are employed by an external employment/hire company to work for QUT for a period of time, you are not covered by QUT's workers' compensation policy. You should be covered by the external employment/hire company's policy.
