Introduction

A risk assessment approach to the management of health and safety is one of the key elements of the Queensland Workplace Health & Safety Act 1995.

To assist QUT managers and staff to meet the legislative requirements a number of proformas have been developed for various risk assessment processes. A range of other Risk Assessment forms/systems are presented here for comparison.)

Chemical Risk Assessment

These chemical risk assessments have been developed by the areas listed and are used to help evaluate the risks and control measures for the handling and storage of chemicals in the workplace.

Biohazard Risk Assessment

The biohazard risk assessments have been developed by the areas listed and are used to help evaluate the risks and control measures required for work involving biohazards.

Field Work / Excursion Risk Assessment

The field work risk assessments have been developed by the areas listed and are used to help evaluate the risks and control measures for field work or excursions.

Manual Handling Risk Assessment

Manual handling injuries account for a significant proportion of all injuries at QUT. The use of a manual handling risk assessment will significantly improve the identification and mitigation of situations which may lead to manual handling injuries. Training is required to assess manual handling tasks.
