Developing our current and future leaders is a key priority for QUT. 

The following programs are offered in 2008 and will provide an opportunity through workshops, networking and reflection for leaders to increase their current capabilities in order to more effectively lead and develop themselves and their staff.

 
 
 

1.

Transition to Supervision (3-day Program)

 
   

Transition to Supervision is a 3-day program designed to provide an opportunity for staff who are new to supervision either due to promotion, in an acting capacity or who as part of their career development wish to undertake a supervisory position. Participants will be introduced to the fundamental and foundational capabilities required to be an effective supervisor.

2.

Team Leadership Program (TLP) HEW 4-7

 
   

The aim of the Team Leadership Program is to provide participants with the confidence and a tool set that they can draw upon and apply when leading an established or new team as well as the establishment of strong networking and collaborative relationships.

 
       
   

Target Group: Professional (HEW 4-7) and equivalent-level research and academic staff who are currently in a team leader/supervisory role and who have had minimal management and leadership training.

3.

Strategic Leadership Program (SLP) HEW 8-10

 
   

The aim of the Strategic Leadership Program is to provide participants with an opportunity to explore individual leadership capabilities through engaging in deep learning within a supportive environment and through establishing effective networks and key alliances and partnerships. 

Target Group: Professional (HEW 8-10) and equivalent-level research and academic staff who are currently in a team leader/supervisory role and who have had minimal management and leadership training.

4.

Women in Leadership (WIL)

 
    Women in Leadership offers programs and activities that enhance the development of academic and professional staff women at near-senior levels at QUT.
